Our Monday Morning Breakfast Group always gathers at the home of one of our members on a Monday before Christmas. We share in a potluck brunch and enjoy a small gift exchange.
This year, I thought that I would bring PINK GIFTS to my friends and that way I'd have my PINK Saturday covered at the same time I gave them their little gifts!!! I hoped they would be OK with that approach from me---they have been such good sports about being on my blog a few times!!!
The collection of PINK gift items started with the PINK plastic storage containers I found last Fall---I added their names to them with stickers. Then, I found the other fun PINK items to slip into the box. Inside the Pink cosmetic bag, I put a pink compact, a PINK nail file, a PINK ball point and a PINK tube of lip gloss. . . . .all PINK, all functional!!!
I wrapped the PINK items and placed them beneath the Santa Tree until the day of the Christmas brunch. THE STONE RABBIT and a few of my old Santas stood guard over the PINK loot!
Laura was our hostess this year!!! We all placed our gifts beneath her tree, then- - - -
we fixed ourselves the "traditional" Mimosas and toasted to a Merry Christmas!!! But before this lovely photo of a swell toast could happen, we first had to - - - - - -
open the bottles of Asti Spumante!!
I was the one who volunteered to "get off easy" on the "potluck" part of the brunch and just pick up the Asti and some orange juice (that Friday and Saturday before, I had been involved in my last sale of the season and I needed something simple to bring to the brunch on Monday!!!!). Unfortunately, I selected bottles with plastic "corks" (I buy nothing but the best when I pick out alcohol!)----plastic corks that would not budge!!!
Beth, on the left, and Mary Ann took over after I had wrestled with that little number unsuccessfully! They pushed and - - - - -
twisted and - - - - -
finally took the "pliers approach" and - - - - -
with much determination (the rest of us were clinching our empty wine glasses and praying for a quick end to this dilemma) they successfully uncorked those bottles! Whew---sometimes ya gotta work for those Mimosas!!
It was soon time to enjoy the scrumptious food!!!!
Laura made a wonderful egg casserole and
Beth outdid herself by baking homemade cinnamon rolls!
Patty brought her delicious Cheesy Potatoes and - - - -
Mary Ann made her always yummy coffee cake!
Laura had set such a beautiful table!!!
We enjoyed our food, drink (we had lots of coffee, too!) and friendship!!!
Then I snapped a few photos of Laura's Christmas decor!!! This little tree was on a buffet table in the dining room!
These sweet trees were also in her dining room atop a cabinet!
She carried her "blue" theme on into the living room with a hurricane filled with silver and blue ornaments.
Her tree in the living room looked beautiful decked out in more blues and silvers!!!
THE STONE RABBIT loved looking at the photos of the brunch, but he wanted to know if the girls liked their PINK presents!
It didn't take my friends too long to realize there was a bit of a PINK motive behind my PINK gifts!! Laura posed with hers, then- - -
Beth, good-naturedly smiled with her PINK treasures!
Patty went along with the PINK gift photo---
and so did Mary Ann!!!
Merry Christmas to my Breakfast Group Friends! Thank you for being such good sports with my blogging adventures!!! You are such a great group of ladies!!!
THE STONE RABBIT was so surprised when I presented him with his very own little PINK plastic box, too!!! I also thanked him for being such a good sport when it came to my blogging!
He told me he didn't mind me sharing stories about him----in fact, he was kinda flattered!!!
There are soooooooo many blogs just waiting for you over at Beverly's HOW SWEET THE SOUND!!! They all have great PINKS to share with you, too!!!
DANA

Your Asti story is too funny! You really are the picture of elegance and sophistication! I gave my niece something similar for Christmas...not sure why I didn't take a picture of that.
My friends know that when I take pictures of them that they will always end up on the internet so they try to behave themselves :) Have a Happy Pink Saturday and a Happy New Year!
PS--Did you get my Povatica recipe?

Dana, that stone rabbit "chick" gets around more than I do, honey!! Does "it" drink much? I think from that grin on its face, it must have imbibed a little snort of the bubbly!! Hah.........
Smooches,
Connie

Dana, I certainly am happy with my "pink and functional" gifts. Thank you! We do have such a great group and much fun. Uncorking those bottles was hilarious.

Usually you can't open the bottle AFTER you've had a few mimosa's. Looks like you girls had a great time. Mimi

Good morning Dana, Just stopping by to say hello. I read your post again and had a good laugh over the wine corks. Your pink is terrific and i enjoyed it again.
Our daughter and grandsons come today and we get to meet Tanner the Coon Hound. Remember Cocoa who was killed by a car. Well Tanner is the new adopted dog. He is large and since he was an outside dog before our daughter adopted him, he is not totally trained. LOL. this should be fun!!! I will be happy to give him a big hug.
Have a great day!!!
Hugs...Jeanne

I would love to see the egg and mushroom recipe too. Your breakfast with friends is a wonderful tradition and sharing photos of it all was very nice for us readers.
Did the Stone Rabbit have his teeth whitened at the dentist or does he use a commercial product? His teeth look better than mine! ;)

Fun, fun, fun and with the asti more fun! I've been so busy I'm just catching up on all of your posts. How did your Christmas Eve party turn out? And your last sale? My friends and I just had our Christmas get together....last night and it was sooo relaxing instead of trying to do it before Christmas. Well, you've done better than me as a WW lifetime member - I have my lifetime membership too! But next Monday I'm starting again and of course I need to firm up...like the Stone Rabbit - what's his secret? He's waaaay firm and fit and honestly I don't see HIM hopping around much!
Here's wishing you a wonderful New Year AND congrats on your 100th upcoming post. I just love your blog. See you Saturday. :)Nancy
