Oh, yes! It was a treat to have that sun visit us on Wednesday.
Guess, what! WE had another visitor, too, and THE STONE RABBIT was the first to spot this little PINK guest.
He spied the PINK bird as it sunned itself on our rock planter wall! (well it's really cement rock stuff.)THE STONE RABBIT had never seen such a beautiful bird before! The color of its feathers was a shimmery PINK. . . . and it was clearly enjoying the fine temps, too!
Being the perfect host, THE STONE RABBIT, yelled out to the PINK bird, "Hello! Welcome to our yard! "
He was so excited to meet the new visitor, that he promptly hopped over in its direction .
His fast movement, however, startled the little bird and it immediately left the rock wall and headed for the grassy yard.
THE STONE RABBIT soon realized he had frightened the little PINK bird with his lightning quick hopping movements, so he came to a stop and softly said, "Little PINK bird, I didn't mean to scare you! Please don't run away!"
The PINK bird heard the kindness in THE STONE RABBIT'S voice and it, too, stopped. Then it turned in the direction of the bunny.
THE STONE RABBIT introduced himself and asked the PINK bird its name. A tiny little voice replied, " My name is FENTON. . . . Little PINK Fenton. . . . . and I think I'm lost."
Oh my, THE STONE RABBIT felt so sad for Little Pink Fenton. He had been lost once, too, as a baby bunny and he recalled how scared he had been. Then he came closer to the shivering, shimmery bundle of PINKNESS and said, "Don't you worry. You'll be safe here with us!"
With those reassuring words from THE STONE RABBIT, Little Pink Fenton quit shivering and looked up at the rabbit friend. . . . and smiled.
Those two spent the afternoon outside, enjoying the warm sunny day. . . . .
In fact, Little PINK Fenton has been with us ever since. . . . still not sure how to find her way back home. However, she knows she's welcome to stay here. . . . actually, she fits right in!
Yes, THE STONE RABBIT and Little Pink Fenton met on that sunny day. . . which was day before yesterday. This morning, when they headed outside, this is what was happening with our Missouri weather. . . . the temps were in the TEENS and it was SNOWING!
They didn't stay outside too long. . . .
instead, they decided to come inside where it was nice and warm and watch the snow from atop the table in the bay window.
It wasn't too long before You Know Who (well, if you don't know who.....her name is Twiggy Cat) had to join them.
Later, THE STONE RABBIT suggested I take a picture of Little Pink Fenton to feature on my PINK SATURDAY post.
I told him that was a BRILLIANT idea! :)
Please take time to visit HOW SWEET THE SOUND. Beverly will have a long list of other bloggers who want to share their PINKS, too!
Have a great PINK SATURDAY!!
Thanks always go out to Beverly for her devotion to keeping such a great event going for all of us to enjoy!
