My husband surprised me with this fantastic bit of technology!
I can say that, prior to having it, I never thought I'd get that crazy over one. . .but now that I have it at my fingertips...well...I'm NUTS about it!!
It's basically a big iPhone...but I can actually see the screen!! :)
Oh, my, it's so nice to have it anywhere with me so I can quickly check my really important e-mail messages (joking with that!), but what I really like is to be able to quickly be "on-line" without having to go into "the office" to do that at my desk top computer. Yes, it truly brings out my laziness!! :)
It's so fun to be able to quickly check my favorite blogs and websites.
I've loaded some "free" e-books that are waiting for me to spend the time reading them. However, my biggest iPad passion, over the last couple of weeks, has been catching up on Seasons one and two of : DOWNTON ABBEY!!!
I can't believe I've never watched it until now. . .but I am totally savoring every moment of it!
I know, I could be watching it on the TV in the family room. . .big screen and all, but THE STONE RABBIT and I love to retreat to "the office" (while the hubby is channel surfing in the family room on the big screen), put the electric throw over us (because it's been COLD here) and watch a couple of episodes at a time!!
We are totally smitten with this show. . .the characters, the story lines, the costumes, the history. We just feel like it's the best TV viewing we've ever experienced.
AND, my oh my, who couldn't be totally in LOVE with Maggie Smith as Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham!! Talk about someone who has gotten better and better with age!!!
I love her quotes that are peppered through out the episodes. . .humorous, insightful, opinionated, subtle.
Here's a Violet-ism: "I'm a woman, Mary. I can be as contrary as I choose."
I hope you get a chance to watch Downton Abbey. If you're not already hooked on it, you most likely will be!

Dana, This post about Downton Abbey is so the way we have found the best TV show out there. We watched the first two seasons on CD's from Amazon. Even Bill is hooked. We think the story is wonderful and the Abbey amazing to see. Did you watch the show that preceded the first show of season three about the Manor house. So interesting. We LOVE Downton Abbey and the awesome actors that bring this show a feeling of being real.
Your I-pad is wonderful as well. What a great gift from your hubs. I am happy for you. Bill loves his too. I haven't tried to use it but I am tempted.
Cousin Bob is here and we are playing cards as we watch the worst winter weather we have had this winter. Windy, sleet, snow, ice and very cold. Dark outside and messy as well. We are inside staying warm and taking it easy. Nice.

We just started Downton Abbey last night! Everyone is telling me it's totally a "me" show...and I did love it! We watched the first two episodes---hoping to watch some more tonight!

I've been seeing Downton Abbey everywhere. Oddly enough, it was suppose to be on PBS but I couldn't find it on our DVR listing. Hmmmm. I suppose I really should check into it. Netflix has a few episodes. Can't figure out why not the whole season or two. ?? So I have been peeking at it - just need to watch it.
I love how the Stone Rabbit is watching the show! Cute. (Always).
ipad, huh? I'd probably be like you - go nuts after getting one. I need to see about that too.

Oh - I LOVE my IPAD. My school gave each teacher one - and what we can do in the classroom is fabulous! Also, love Downton Abbey - and because of Blogs like yours, I just watched all the episodes for the first time in the past 3 weeks. I have also been able to catch up on PBS with Season 3 episodes. Dana, I am going to bed but I have to tell you I knew Sybil was going to die. Sigh!!! My DIL had Eclampsia and she had to have her baby early before she went into labor by Cesarean. It is a very 'serious' condition. I am so sad. This show has me...hook, line and sinker. HA! Bill too!
I have missed your comments. What have you been doing besides running? Have you started your valentines yet? I am going to start this week. I have no idea what I will do. I will enjoy it though.
