We have dodged a lot of snow this year in the KC area, but this week.....not so much!!
A few inches fell the other day, yet over the next couple of days the sidewalks and roads were once again visible! Yay! I was hoping this would be the beginning of being on the "road to spring", because not only were the streets looking great. . .we also had lots of robins in our little corner of the world!!!
Lots and lots of ROBINS! In fact, we had hundreds of them milling around our neighborhood since last weekend. They'd go from yard to yard, munching on the last of the holly berries and anything else they could find. (I know, there are not HUNDREDS of them in this picture....just wanted you to see that we did have robins!! :)
Anyway, see how dry the street looks!!! My running buddy and I decided to schedule a little run for this morning (Friday), even though the temps were predicted to be really cold. A short cold run would be better than no run. . .right?
But NOOOOOOO.......the snow started falling again yesterday afternoon!!!! Our dry streets are once again packed with snow. . .so no outdoor running for us for a few more days.
I couldn't help but write my dissatifaction with the accumulation next to THE STONE RABBIT!!! I know we haven't had a ton of snow, like our eastern friends, but "hey" most of us around here have been thrilled to get a break from it this year!! We've had our turn at being buried beneath inches and inches of snow and ice! :)
While I fumed, the little robins hunkered down and rode it out.
I need to take their attitude .
Twiggy Cat loved watching the snow and the birds from her warm and cozy perch in the living room window.
I need to take her attitude.
When the snow stopped, THE STONE RABBIT took the positive and productive approach to the new fallen snow, too!!
I need to take his attitude!
