I'M A GLEEK!!!!!

 

Donna of PARTY WISHES is a GLEE fan. . . .just like me!!   In honor of their new season, which starts tonight, we ordered very special T-shirts!  You see, we are not official "GLEEKS"....or major fans of the show!   

We planned on doing dual posts today to commemorate the season premier and our shirts, but I think we are both so busy, that it didn't quite happen as planned!  :) 

My pal Bonnie and I have been super busy getting ready for our Tag Sale, so the cute little picture I was going to have for this post of me in my GLEEK shirt won't be happening .  Instead, you get this one!  :) 

However, THE STONE RABBIT, who is cute all of the time, hopped up  to show you what a great shirt it is!!

I'm LOST. Are you?

I am sooooo sad.

It's the last season for "LOST".   Oh, the agony.  I don't know how I will be able to go on once that show is over!!!

You see, I have loved LOST from its very first episode six years ago. 

The personalities of the plane crash survivors.  The strange white bear, the evil black smoke,  the weird "other" people on the island.   ALL of the odd stuff that occurred . . . .  and it was somehow all so connected. 

I was hooked.  They kept reeling me in year after year. . . even though I was totally "lost" most of the time as to what was actually going on in the episodes! 

Last night, a particularly cold evening had settled in, so I lit the fire.  THE STONE RABBIT, who was a little chilly too, joined me as we prepared to watch the weekly two hour event.  He's been a fan from the beginning, too.

  THANKFULLY, the first hour is devoted to showing us the episode that was on the previous week.

I need this second dose of the show because I have usually forgotten some of the events that actually did occur  the week before.   However,  the BEST part about seeing a replay of the previous show is. . . .

that the makers of LOST also include a little script that runs at the bottom of the screen.  This script "reminds" us of former connections, events and some times explanations about the story line we're watching.

   

I love this. . . because, for me, it does help clear things up a bit. 

For awhile. 

Then the second hour comes on. . . the new show. . . and when we reach the end of it I find that I am once again. . . .

          LOST!!!!! 

          But I love it!!!

THE TEXAS TENORS ARE STILL OUR #1 PICK!!!

Last night, just before AMERICA'S GOT TALENT was to air and let us know who won first place in the voting, I pulled out my lucky PINK socks (part of a Mother's Day gift from my DIL, son and grand girl).  I thought if I would place my TENORS photo next to them, then the good luck would transfer to that wonderful trio!!!

Twiggy and THE STONE RABBIT took their spots in front of the TV.......they had been talking about the show all day!!  

The show started and we anxiously waited with THE TEXAS TENORS to find out how they did in the voting.  After what seemed like an eternity, it was announced  they had made the Top Five!!!

The show crept along. . . . but we finally found out that THE TENORS were now in the FINAL FOUR.

THE STONE RABBIT said he needed to wear one of my lucky socks, too.  Every little bit helps!!

Sadly, we soon found out, THE TEXAS TENORS  were going to be in the Fourth Place.

They were so appreciative for this award and opportunity.

I personally felt they deserved a much higher spot, but, of course, the winner is not necessarily based on honest to goodness talent.  It's based on a popularity vote by TV viewers.

The final two contestants were Kevin Skinner and Barbara Padilla. 

The winner was Kevin Skinner.

I wish him luck.  He is appealing to many folks because he is not "polished". . he's soft spoken and shy and his singing reflects those qualities.   It will be interesting to see the direction this win takes him.

After the show, Twiggy, THE STONE RABBIT and I discussed that, in our book, THE TEXAS TENORS are still our Number One Choice!!  Thanks go out to THE TENORS for giving us such enjoyment over the last few weeks!!!

We wish them a wonderful singing future. . . .and we hope we can get their autographs some day!!!  :)

OUR LITTLE TEXAS TENORS WATCH PARTY!!!

THE STONE RABBIT, Twiggy and I decided to hold our own little watch party for THE TEXAS TENORS last night when they appeared in the finals of AMERICA'S GOT TALENT!!!   There were ten acts performing for the chance to win the one-million dollar prize PLUS a show in Las Vegas!!! 

Of course, we were cheering for THE TENORS, as one of them (JC) is from the Kansas City area.  However,  they are an incredibly talented singing group truly worthy of the prize!

As THE STONE RABBIT watched intently, Twiggy decided she would groom herself a bit....she wanted to look perfect for the photos I would be taking.  Then. . . . .

she decided to take a quick cat nap while waiting for THE TENORS to come on stage!

But, she woke right up as soon as she heard JC singing to the crowd!!!

Once again, THE TENORS were amazing!!!

The judges thought they were wonderful, too, and gave them a standing ovation!!!

As soon as the show ended, I was on the computer and on my phone voting for them!!!!

They are a terrific trio!

The winner will be announced Wednesday evening.  You can bet we'll be watching!!!

WE LOVE THE TEXAS TENORS!!

Tuesday was the day we'd all been looking forward to!!!!  THE TEXAS TENORS would be making their appearance in the semi-final round of "AMERICA'S GOT TALENT"!!!   As I've mentioned in a previous post (click here) , one of the TENORS, JC, is a friend of my son and daughter-in-law's.  

THE STONE RABBIT was  eager to support JC and the other two TENORS, so he made a little sign and hopped up and down our street for hours.  He said several of our neighbors told him they'd been cheering for the group in their earlier appearances on the show and they would be sure to vote for them again after their performance that night!!

When the show came on Tuesday evening, I headed to my little office and settled in with Twiggy to watch THE TENORS!!  They were the second act and they were WONDERFUL!!!

THEN tonight, came the RESULTS show!!!!  Of the ten acts who performed last night, only four would advance to the finals!!!!

OOOOOOH, it was tense!!!

THE TEXAS TENORS were in the very first group to hear the results. 

They were waiting and . . . .

Twiggy was waiting and . . . . .

then the words we'd all been so hoping to hear came at last.  THE TEXAS TENORS were going to the finals!!!!

THE STONE RABBIT was so excited, that he started hoping up and down causing the TV to shake....that's why the picture looks blurry! :)

How exciting for THE TEXAS TENORS!!!

I did tell THE STONE RABBIT he needed to correct his little sign before he goes out on his next trip to support the group.....and he promptly took care of it!!! 

Yes, his sign says it all....we do love THE TEXAS TENORS!!!!

THE TEXAS TENORS!

This handsome guy is a friend of my son and daughter-in-law.   I captured this photo when he was attending my Grand Girl's birthday party in June. 

His first name is JC.  He's an amazing singer......a tenor!!!

And ya know what else?

He's on the TV show AMERICA'S GOT TALENT!!!   That's him on your left side of the screen as he appeared in his audition for the show.  He had combined forces with two other great singers and formed the group called THE TEXAS TENORS!!  <------- click on their name to listen to them sing!!!

I took this photo on July 8th. . . . . in the hospital room where my daughter-in-law had just presented us with a wonderful Grand Boy about two and one-half hours before the group made their debut!! 

Over the next few weeks, it was disclosed that THE TEXAS TENORS had made the Top Forty Group out of the gazillions of folks who had tried out for the show.

TONIGHT, we finally got to see them perform LIVE from Hollywood!!  JC is on your left again....the judges are down in front.

The judges had a few comments----mostly positive.

The Texas Tenors listened intently to the remarks made by the judges.

When tonight's twelve acts were reviewed, at the end of the program, THE STONE RABBIT hopped up to get a close look at the talent.  He agreed that the number one talent tonight was, by far, THE TEXAS TENORS!!!

That rabbit certainly knows talent when he sees (and HEARS) it!!
