Hi! I'm glad you came to visit our Front Veranda, as part of Rhondi's Front Porch Party! After you have finished having a glass of lemonade with me and my buddy THE STONE RABBIT, you'll want to hop on over to Rhondi's blog, Rose Colored Glasses, and check out all of the other participants in the porch party!
THE STONE RABBIT is in charge of serving the lemonade today! I just love to use my vintage pitcher and glasses this time of year. The old hammered aluminum tray is one my daughter gave me for my birthday a couple of years ago. She purchased it at Luticia Clementine's, a wonderful shop on the square in Independence, MO.
I photographed some of these views night before last, just as a huge storm was about to roll in---hence the darkness of some of the pictures.
I love my Front Veranda. We built this home three years ago and having a front porch was a must. At our old home, we just had a stoop. This porch is such fun to decorate and sit outside and enjoy the wonderful weather (when we're lucky enough to have it!) and watch the neighbors. :-)
Shhhhhhh-----don't tell my husband, but I have this wreath hanging by little wires in the screens of the windows. I think it looks really cute there----he might have a problem with how I attached it. The crow is one I made last year. His little hang tag says "Old Glory". Yeah, I know it's not that clever, but it is appropriate.
I found the bunting (in the window) at a local flea market some time back. I enjoy using these fantastic patriotic colors and items during the summer months. The planter is one I painted in my recent May 24th post. The plants are looking great---I haven't hurt them yet!
I love this spot on my wall to hang seasonal wreaths. I found the old door insert at a flea market and stenciled LIBERTY on it. The iron stars are reproductions of architectural details---Bonnie gave those to me.
The planter used to be rusty in color---now it's black thanks to SPRAY PAINT! I found out that I couldn't kill Asparagus Fern and Vinca Vine. They'll look really nice as the summer progresses---as long as I remember to water them!
THE STONE RABBIT loves to watch the world go by on our Front Veranda. He's in front of an old sap bucket filled with tea dyed flags. The iron stars are the real deal---old architectural details. I bought them at local antique stores and I have had them several years.
I know you're anxious to visit the other front porches, so I'll let you be on your way. Please come back and visit!
Dana

Enjoyed visiting your front porch. I have always loved front proches.

Good Morning Dana! So nice to meet you, especially as we are hanging out on our front porches on this fun morning.
Love how you have decorated your pretty porch - all looks wonderful and welcoming. The stone rabbit is lucky to have a home here!
I've also read the story of Twiggy - it's amazing how resilient a little starved kitty can bounce back with TLC - and you were great to supply that. She's just beautiful and I'm glad your dogs have accepted her.
Enjoy this special day, and visit me again soon.

Hello Dana, I really admire your post today. I love your patriotic touch. I feel welcome already. Thanks for visiting me this morning. Wait, I love the flower box and the flowers and especially your crow. I think you have a very homey touch to your whole porch. I almost signed off too soon, I guess I am excited about visiting so many lovely porches. :)
Take care, Jeanne

Okay, Dana - I love you! You are soooooo funny! I have to have my girls read your posts because they think I've gone plain nuts (especially when I wrote about the squirrel wedding that took place in my yard), and yet here you are, a kindred spirit, talking to stone rabbit (who I think is fantastic! I have a few stone rabbits I wouldn't mind setting him up with so we could get some stone rabbit babies!)... Love your blog!...Donna

Beautiful porch! I especially love all the patriotic touches, and I love those stars as I have several like them! They are so fun to decorate with!
Also very much enjoyed your post on what was going on 40 years ago when you were married. Hard to believe that was all just 40 years ago! Happy Anniversary! Loved the post on Twiggy too. I don't blaming you for wanting to adopt her!

What an awesome visit and you are just a doll. Oh to be so slim!! Your decor is lovely. I'm working on a very red cherry kit now and trying to decide if I want to add flags, or save them for another set. xoxo
