If you've been reading my recent posts, you know I have hit a big blogging milestone ----- THIS is my 100th post and it landed on PINK SATURDAY!
I was so excited to finally have that many posts under my belt, but I was really thrilled when it all happened on this special day---Pink Saturday!
So, as a way to help further celebrate this momentous occasion---I will be having a PINK GIVEAWAY!
All you need to do to enter is leave a comment on this post----you have from now through Thursday! I will draw the name of the winner (from some kind of a PINK container) on Friday!
You MUST return next Saturday to see who is the lucky winner!
You DO NOT have to be a "blogger" to enter!!!
It could be YOU!!!!
I know you're dying to know just what you could win, aren't you?
Well----I love any old excuse to go antiquing----especially to one of my favorite spots around the Kansas City area and that is the Brass Armadillo-----so I decided to take a little drive to that great antique mall and - - - - - - -
park my car with all of the other white vehicles in the parking lot!!
THEN I went inside to comb every square inch of that place---in search of possible great PINK items for my giveaway!!
I LOVE going to places like this-----you NEVER know what you will find!
Let me tell you, there is PINK in abundance at The Brass Armadillo!
Wouldn't a sweet PINK tea pot look great at your house?
You could sip a cup or two of tea while you create a post or visit other bloggers or scrub the kitchen floor!! It would surely taste better than your normal tea because you brewed it in this glorious PINK pot!
How about blogging from this sweet PINK chair?
It would make a dynamite PINK giveaway prize, wouldn't it?
Well, rats! That sweet PINK seat was SOLD!
Don't be too sad---I saw lots and lots of other PINKNESS in this place!
OOOH! I love those cute little vintage paper houses---they are in all sorts of styles.
You can collect an entire village of them and put 'em on display at Christmas!
That little bunny in the background looks like he's climbing up on the roof of that little house---maybe he's a roofer-bunny and he's patching a shingle before that house is sold!
"The Oak Ridge Boys"!!
You would certainly be tappin' your toes, while you read your favorite blogs, with their music playing in the background----and that jacket is PINK!!!!!
Double good giveaway possibility!
I remember my Mom having some of these Tupperware measuring spoons!
Look at the Tablespoon--it's PINK!
You could whip up a cool treat and take lots of pictures as you go along and use these measuring spoons and put it on a ---- A POST!!!
Now wouldn't that be fun?
For you cat fanciers---this would look positively stunning on your desk!
Every time you had trouble thinking of something to blog about you could just look in her sparkly eyes and- - -- within seconds INSPIRING THOUGHTS would jump into your brain!!!! Oh, my----that looks like a great giveaway item!
Heck, I just might have to buy that sweet kitty for MYSELF!
Now, this item is verrrrrry interesting.
I'm certain Mabel must've been pretty busy on Thursdays!
I think this could be used in any number of ways----
.pack it in your gym bag and pull it out to wipe the sweat from your brow while in step class or on the treadmill (I'm certain you might get looks of attention from fellow gym members!)----
.it would really look cute as a hand towel in your guest bath----
.what about taking it to the bowling alley to wipe off your ball between frames----
.or (last one here, I promise) it would make a swell "rally rag" when the team you love is behind!!!
Whoa! What a blast it would be to have a vintage PINK clock right over you computer!!!
It would always be a pleasure to gaze up at those PINK plastic numerals and check ---"the time" !!
Yes, I know, I know. There is not one danged pink thing on these sweet old stockings, but I just couldn't get my eyes off of them!
Why are Rex and Button's stockings in an antique mall, of all places?
Do you suppose Rex was a Bassett Hound and Button was a sweet Orange Tabby cat?
Maybe Rex was the little son and Button was the daughter-----
or maybe Rex was the hubby and Button was the wife.
Oh. . . . . sometimes I get pretty sidetracked when I'm in one of these places!
I'm on a mission!
Gotta get over Rex and Button and search for more PINK!!!!
Ah, here we go-----a bottle of "Pink Joy Joose" from the Ozarks!
Now, since I live in Missouri, I certainly know about the Ozarks and the history that area has of making such wonderful drinks as "moonshine", "white lightning", "mountain dew"----in other words, homemade alcohol (not the Rubbing kind, but the Drinking kind).
Perhaps a little PINK jug of this liquid refreshment would help a blogger relax a bit and allow the "creative juices" to flllloooooooow! :)
Here is a great Troll Doll with super-duper PINK hair! He would be darling perched atop a computer monitor or maybe leaning on a speaker! What a fun side-kick he would be!
In your spare time, you could practice French Braiding his hair!
Cute, cute, cute!!!! Who wouldn't LOVE a pair of hot PINK shoes?
Your spirits would be lifted----even if you couldn't wear them (the size is teeeeensy)----just holding them in your lap and gently rubbing them every now and then would bring a person such inner peace!
Of course, the inner peace would be greatly enhanced if those babies would actually fit on ones tootsies!
Now you folk art lovers would be thrilled to have this old PINK bunny "pull toy" !
Not only is it sweet, but it is very obedient!
If you want to take it for a walk----just hold onto its string! It will only walk when you walk----it automatically stops when you stop!! It doesn't make threatening noises to the other neighborhood critters out for their walks! It doesn't eat, so there's no food expense----you NEVER have to take it outside in bad weather to go potty! Best of all---it has a permanent little smile! The PERFECT companion and possible giveaway surprise!!!
Hey, maybe these PINK flamingos might be more appealing as a giveaway prize!
You could line em up and play Congo Line-----or put em in a circle and let them do The Chicken Dance or pretend they are in a pool and let them play Marco-----Polo!!!
A little play therapy can do wonders for the soul !!!
And speaking of play----what could be more fun than a rousing game of PINK Frisby!!! (that's the way they spelled it on the Frisby/Frisbee!)
I guess, if I got this as a prize---and you won--- you COULD come to the Sonic in Belton, MO, and claim your free Big Route 44 drink---I don't see an expiration date on it!
Did you notice you could also get 10% off your order?
You could invite allllll of us to meet you there and we'll let you call in our order on yours so we could get that extra 10% off, too!
Wouldn't that be fun????
There's just something so special about vintage hats---do you see that PINKISH one on the bottom of the photo?
I did!
Just as I was about to take my picture with that little hat on my head, some old guy was slowly walking behind me and wathcing!
I don't know why he thought it was odd that someone would put that cute thing on their head and try to get a photo of it!
He later came back by and told me that was a cute "red" hat------RED???? NO, NO, NO---it's not RED!!!
Humph!
AHHHHHH! Can you believe this? It's a PINK bunny (NOT a concrete one, but kinda ceramic one) and it looks like it could be a blood relative of one of my concrete bunnies at home- - - -
See "Curly" a the bottom of this photo? Don't they look alike?
Ya just NEVER know what surprises an antique mall has for you!
Ever since I "met" Jillian of JILLIAN'S PAGES I think of her every time I see Lu Ray dishes! She loves them and has collected lots and lots of them. They come in blue, yellow, green and this beautiful PINK!!! (I think!)
*****BREAKING NEWS!!!!****** I just found out that Jillian JUST posted her first PINK SATURDAY POST!! PLEASE go over and visit her!! You will LOVE what she is sharing with YOU!!!!!
Do you know who wore this PINK shirt?
Well,the tag said it was a Jockey's "silks"--- and when I turned it over, I saw that it really belonged to - - - - - - -
BJ-----of SWEET NOTHINGS!
BJ, I do not recall reading that you rode horses professionally!!
How cool is that!
I hate it that one of your shirts ended up at this mall! Don't you think your grandkids would love to see you wear that----while you tear around a track atop a horse?
Oh, this little PINKISH Beanie Baby wanted to be a giveaway prize----look at that little expression on her face!
Those poor little cast off Beanies!!
Remember when folks were fighting over the newest ones---just buying those little things up as fast as they were Mass Produced !
Now, look at where they have ended up----in huge piles---at antique malls---desperate to relocate!!!
On a more serene note----how about enjoying a delicious cup of tea or coffee from this little set?
How elegant to hold a steaming cup (of something) up to you lips and delicately sip while lifting the pinkie of the hand that is holding the handle!
What a treat!
A PINK PLASTIC CORVETTE!!! Now that would be a fun prize.
I can see the winner making engine revving noises while maneuvering that little pretend "vet" all over their blogging desk!
That could provide hours of fun---especially if the PINK flamingos got to take turns driving!
Who wouldn't want to own their very own pair of PINK cowboy boots?
Again, matching the size of the boots to the size of the winner's tootsies presents a problem---BUT if the winner is creative, those boots could be enjoyed in so many other ways then on the feet!
*Fill 'em with sand and use 'em as door stops!
*Place them in your guest bathroom. Put a plastic bag in one(as a liner) and use it as a darling trash can and stash the extra rolls of toilet tissue in the other!
*Put them on your patio or porch---filled with your favorite seasonal plants !
*Position a glass jar inside and place gorgeous fresh cut flowers in it---wa-lah! a PINK boot vase! So cute on your computer desk!
OK, I'll stop.
"Ah, shucks"---a JOHN WAYNE life size cutout ! It's sorta looks PINK!
Here we are----finally at "the end" of this epic post.
There are three of us who know what I bought for The Giveaway! Me, THE STONE RABBIT, and Twiggy--who never misses a chance to check out anything new that comes into our home!
If you want to know what I bought and WHO won the Giveaway----come back NEXT SATURDAY!
Remember to LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS POST (through Thursday!) to be entered in this wonderful drawing!!!
Now, I know I wore you out with this lengthy post, but there are MANY, MANY other bloggers who want to share their PINK FUN with you today!
It's easy-----just go to Beverly's at HOW SWEET THE SOUND to get the complete list of Pink Fun!

Congratulations Dana. Many people write 100 posts, but no one puts as much imagination and creativity into each one, like you do. I look forward to your Pink post each week. I love all the items at that antique shop, but the one with you wearing the hat is the cutest photo! Happy Pink Saturday.

I've been reading your blog for a while now. Although I don't have a blog of my own, I've been toying with the idea of an on for a while now. I love reading your adventures with the Stone Rabbit. Also wanted to let you know that the Brass Armadillo is actually only about 45 minutes from me. I love just going there and "wish buying". It has become one of my favorite places to go to.

I left you a comment on Saturday afternoon. What did you do with it? ;-)
Anyway, my comment was about the towel almost making me spit my coffee on my computer screen. And, I wondered if BJ is living another life that she hasn't told us about.

Dana,
Congratulations on your 100th post! You are just too funny. I thoroughly enjoyed your tour through the antique mall. The hat pictures were awesome! It was definitely in the pink family - not the red family. The old guy must be going blind!
Speaking of hats, please throw mine into the bowl for the drawing! ☺

Ooohh! Sign me up! I'm intrigued to know what you have up your sleeve for your giveaway! tee hee! It's sure to be a surprise! All those lovely *pink* possibilities in that antique store! *sigh* I think that *pink* chair was my favorite, too bad it was sold already.
Thanks for dropping by, I've been so busy with the holidays and year end business, that I just haven't been able to keep up or visit too much. I'm hoping that will change, I've missed everybody!
Have a lovely day!
Margie :)
