On Valentine's Day
there arrived a small box---
A box that contained candy and socks!
The gift was a treat
from Sandy so sweet--
My bunny so dear,
hopped ever so near,
to look in the box of socks.
He said, "Let's have fun,
with the gift that has come"--
and he snatched the socks from the box!!
The "fun" was clear
as he covered an ear,
then quickly the other one, too!
I cried, "No way,
you've gone astray - - -
socks on your ears won't do!"
"We must find a place,"
I said to him,
"a place where they can be,
in the most perfect spot,
for the thoughtful gift,
that came from Sandy to me."
So our journey began,
with the socks in the box,
to try out various spots.
Spots to see,
the best that would be,
to put the socks from the box!
With the socks in the box,
we headed outside
and spied our first place to try.
Yes!! SOCKS ON BLOCKS--
a good place indeed.
They will stay nice and high.
Izzie turned her head,
to tell us "no",
and added her special tip.
She grabbed the socks
and placed them below,
then gave them a little nip!
Ahhhh! SOCKS ON ROCKS--
how very smart!
But not what I had in mind.
Thanks sweet Izzie
for your help.
You are so very kind!
Back in the house,
with the SOCKS FROM THE BOX,
we gave the place a look.
THE STONE RABBIT had a brilliant thought--
"Let's look in the Yellow Book!"
While turning the pages,
one at a time,
we were having so much fun.
Then the Rabbit said,
"Look! SOCKS ON DOCS,
I believe we've found the one!"
I told him "No!,
That's not the place,
where the socks from the box should be!
SOCKS ON DOCS
doesn't do it at all
for the socks from Sandy to me!"
We climbed in the car,
with the box of socks,
not knowing where to go,"
until we saw the Penney's sign,
then we pulled in the lot
----real slow! :)
Once in the store,
the rabbit said,
"Hurry, and follow me!"
Then he hopped down the aisles,
with the socks from the box,
as quickly as could be!
He drew quite the crowd,
as he spoke out loud,
saying, "Look! Up on the wall!"
I looked up in shock,
as he'd tossed the last sock,
and they didn't look bad at all!
In the blink of an eye,
he had thrown them high,
up at the two tic-tocs.
With my hands clinched tight,
I looked at the sight,
the sight of the SOCKS ON CLOCKS.
Not waiting for me,
he sped fast away,
my little Rabbit friend.
For he had spotted,
a shirt display,
and he wanted me again!
"Look! SOCKS ON HAWKS- - -
will THAT do?"
"NO way," I said, "We love MIZZOU!"
"Look over there,
try not to stare!"
"Oh my!", I said, and off I flew!
Ooooohhhh, SOCKS ON JOCKS,
what a sight to see,
but probably not the best place to be.
"No JOCKS with pink SOCKS,"
I shouted with glee,
not the ones from Sandy to me!
Then across the highway,
we did go,
to look inside the new BASS PRO!
We hoped to find,
the perfect spot,
to put those socks that I just got. :-)
Once inside,
he wanted to hide,
and he hopped away in a hurry!
"I'm leaving, " he said,
"while I still can.
They stuff everything that's furry!"
A clerk oh so dear,
saw my pink socks quite clear,
and asked what she could do.
I told her my quest,
to locate the best,
but so far I hadn't a clue.
She yanked at the box,
containing the socks,
and said, "Quickly, follow me!"
She ran through the store,
yelling, "Spots galore!
We'll find the one--you'll see!"
She stopped at a place,
where a furry little face
was peeking from behind a bush.
"Just look at the fox!
The FOX with the SOCKS!"
Then the customers started to push!
While doing my best,
to not get stressed,
as she yelled, "Look, SQUAWKS with SOCKS!"
I shook my head 'NO',
and turned to go,
snatching the SOCKS from the SQUAWKS!
But she had more,
much more in the store.
More places to put my socks.
Pleased with herself,
she patted the shelf,
saying, "See! Pink SOCKS on the FROCKS!"
My head started to hurt,
As I looked at the shirt,
on which she had just placed my socks.
And scratching my ear,
I turned and said, "Dear,
Sorry, but not on the frocks!"
Not wanting to flop,
she had one more stop,
a swell place to put my socks!
So off we did go,
for she wanted to show,
the great look of SOCKS on the CHOCS!
I sighed at the way,
she begged me to stay,
and look for more spots for my socks.
I said, "Thank you, but no,
I really must go."
Then I picked up my SOCKS from the CHOCS!
So back to my car,
which wasn't too far,
my Rabbit was still trying to hide!
I gave him my socks,
that came in the box,
and said, "Let's continue our ride!"
That's when he began
to tap his foot,
and he told me he'd had 'enough'.
He had other things to do,
he was 'busy' he said,
"Enough of your crazy stuff!"
So we drove back home,
my Rabbit and me,
after our long and fruitless trip.
And I took off my shoes
to relax a bit
and fixed some coffee to sip!
While I sat there ,
in my easy chair,
fighting away the blues.
My Rabbit hopped up
and gave to me,
my favorite pair of shoes!
And on those shoes
he'd placed my gift,
and he said with a great big smile,
"Look, don't you think
this looks just fine?
Plus, it's absolutely your style!"
We'd looked so long
and we'd looked so hard,
to find the best spot for my socks.
And all the while
the spot was right here!
The SOCKS look great with my CROCS!

DANA
A special note of thanks to "Sandy" who sent me that little gift "just because", then she gave me the idea about wearing my Pink Socks with my Crocs!
I so appreciate your thoughtfulness for that great gift of "Candy and Socks in a Box!" By the way, the candy didn't last too long!
Hi Dana, I can't believe I am your first comment. It is one of your cutest pink journeys to entertain us for Pink Saturday yet. No matter how hard I might try, I could not come up with anything so clever. I don't have the patience to think that much. And it isn't just thinking it is getting your car and going all over town taking photos. Kudos to you my friend, I love your fun posts. On top of all that, you are a poet. LOL The stone rabbit is not shabby either. Smiling BIG!!!
Have a wonderful weekend my clever friend.
Hugs...Jeanne

Hi Dana, I re-read your delightful post and it looks great. I an see a few places where it looks better but all in all it was great then too.
We had 70 degree weather and it looks like we will have a few more days of warm weather. Bill mowed the lawn today. It is still not very green.
We did call our little found poodle Trippy because of our road trip. I named her even though the kids were not happy. They loved her as much as I did. I had a good cry when I wrote that post. Trippy and Babette, I think I need a poodle to love. After our summer vacation though, not yet.
Have a happy Sunday.
