Last Saturday, after the Luau Party I hosted to celebrate Pink Saturday's First Birthday, our little Grand Girl came for a visit!!
When she spied one of the stuffed PINK flamingos I had used as gifts for my Luau guests, she was so excited!!
Of course, she was given her very own to take with her on our trip to ----------
THE KANSAS CITY ZOO!!
She's in the stroller - - - the arm on the lower right belongs to my husband---my photography skills leave a lot to be desired at times!
The day was beautiful---warm and sunny. We coated our fair complected grandchild with sunscreen before we left the house, so she was ready to see some FLAMINGOS as soon as we arrived and paid for our tickets.
We saw a beautiful Trumpeter Swan! It's loud cry startled The Grand Girl, but she still loved it.
Then we found the seals, but they were hiding or "floating". They were resting up for their next performance, so we continued our search for PINK flamingos---promising the seals that we would return.
It wasn't too long before we saw this sign!
And there were the FLAMINGOS---they had been waiting for us!
Our Grand Girl eagerly showed the real life FLAMINGOS her little stuffed one.
Our next stop was to see the elephants.
The Grand Girl loved the elephants, but they didn't seem to show much interest in her little Pink flamingo. That was OK, because she thought they were great.
She decided to strap her Little Pink Flamingo in the safety belts of the stroller, "Because," she told us- -- - -
"I'll feel better!"
Then we were off to find more great animals!
We found several more, including a sleepy tiger- - -
and a big bird.
Then she rubbed the belly on a laughing statue- - - - -
and took a dive back into her stroller.
By this time, we'd been at the zoo for about four hours. She was hot and tired and ready to head home. So were her grandparents!
Back home, she took a little nap, then we spent the evening blowing bubbles and talking about her trip to the zoo.
"What was your favorite thing about going to the zoo?" I asked her. "The train ride," she said.
As I recalled, the Little Pink Flamingo enjoyed that ride, too!
I have one Little Flamingo left! THE STONE RABBIT thought we should have a little giveaway, so........the PINK flamingo could be yours!! Just leave a comment on this post by Sunday night and you will be entered in the drawing for the little Pink Saturday Birthday Bird!!! I'll announce the winner next Saturday on my Pink Saturday post.
