HALLOWEEN SURPRISES CAN BE PINK!

On our recent antiquing trip to Sparks, Kansas, Bonnie and I were keeping our eyes open for vintage Halloween items.....they are hard to find and they are usually pricey when you do find them.

In one booth, I spied this little box of holiday cookie cutters.  All seven of the designs were there and for the bargain price of $4.00.

I love these vintagey cutters of cookie dough.  They're NOT plastic and they were made in the USA!!

I wonder if some grandma like me owned them and made wonderful sweet delights for her little Grands. 

I hope so. 

I hope I will, too!

But, if I don't get around to mixing up a batch of dough, I will still enjoy displaying the shapes during the holidays they represent and perhaps. . .

I will turn my little Grand Girl loose with her Play Doh and the vintage cookie cutters.  I know she'll have fun making "cookies" and I will love watching her as she does.

THE STONE RABBIT wanted to tell you that he was on a recent shopping trip, too.

Yes, he visited our local Walmart  and was thrilled when he saw all of the Halloween items tempting the shoppers.  In fact, he made a purchase!!!

Yes, indeedy, THE STONE RABBIT bought a PINK Jack-O-Lantern!!!

Love your cookie cutters! What a great find. They look brand new but vintage! Nothing makes me happier than to know that something that I buy was made in the USA!!! I even check the backs of my vitamins to make sure they are made here. You have got to watch the Halloween candy at WalMart! Some of it is made in another country I will not mention and you do not want to buy it! It seems like I did see a pink pumpkin at WalMart too! That is so funny they are making them in PINK!

I gave my vintage cookie cutters to my daughter-in-law years ago. No clue if she uses them or not. I'm loving that Pink halloween pumpkin. Never in my lifetime have I seen that. Stone Rabbit made a good purchase at Wal-Mart.

Good morning Dana, I am sorry your sale stunk. sigh. So much work and then disappointment. When I used to do antique shows I remember those days.

Where on earth did you find the pink pumpkin??? I have to have one!! Please let me know!!

The cookie cutters are fantastic. Somehow I remember the cat, I think we might have had it or the set when I was young.

If you want to get right to the cutting out and decorating, try the Pilsbury Sugar Cookie dough in the tube. The cookies taste really good. My mom always mixed food coloring with egg yolk and we painted the cookies before baking. Oh, sweet memories!!

Hi Dana, I will be watching the Texas Tenors tonight. Thanks for the note. I think I told you, but this is back up.

We officially have a baby poodle picked out and she is so adorable. We have only seen photos but she is red with a white face and forehead. When we get a photo with her eyes open I will post it. We can't get her until Nov.7th.

Hope you are rested from your stinking sale. I really am sorry!!! Laughing here. I think the economy has a lot to do with people not spending money right now. Beverly's garage sale was stinking too. So much work with no reward.

I have to tell you - I have some cookie cutters very similar to the ones you found, and they WERE my grandmother's (and I'm very much middle aged!). I love just pulling them out and looking at them. I think one day when there are small people around again, I will use them.
