It seems like yesterday that I started participating in Beverly's PINK SATURDAY(here) and then in an instant we were celebrating the first birthday (here) of this wonderful weekly event. Now, we're gathering to honor the 2nd Birthday of Pink Saturday.
This time, I have been so busy, that I needed help to pull off the party I believe our hostess deserves. . . so I asked THE STONE RABBIT for help.
Actually. . . .I left all of the details up to him.
THE STONE RABBIT must have been an event planner in a former life. The moment I handed him the job of planning the Pink Saturday Birthday Party, he set out to make it a fun and memorable event.
I didn't ask any questions. . . he was in charge of the whole kit and caboodle....from the guest list to the food and activities! I just told him there had to be a whole lot of PINK involved!
The first thing THE STONE RABBIT did was figure out who he wanted to invite and from that guest list, he had already created the party theme!
He loved that I recently took cake decorating lessons. In fact, he would study my student book and practice with my left over frostings from each class.
I think that practice paid off because he started with the dessert for the Pink Party!
First, he baked the cupcakes, then he put a layer of green frosting on each one, followed by a layer of "grass-like" frosting!
Next, he pulled in the PINK!! He took regular sized PINK marshmallows and "glued" (with frosting) a little section of a miniature PINK marshmallow in the center of one end.
Then, he used little pieces of the miniature marshmallows and attached them as ears. With black frosting, he made dot eyes and noses!
After he put a little swirl of PINK frosting on the backs of each one for a tail, he placed them on the "grass" !!
I've known that rabbit for years and years and had no idea he was so talented!!!
I believe I told you that his guest list determined the "theme" of our PINK Saturday Birthday Party. I didn't know who he had invited until I heard the grunting and squealing sounds coming from the front yard.
Then, I knew exactly who would be coming to the party.
That rabbit had invited the PIGS from down the street!!!
The PIGS are always welcome, but this time, they were ALL coming. When such a large number of those little PINK porkers pay a visit at once. . . well, things can get a little hog wild!
THE STONE RABBIT saw his guests and quickly hopped out to greet them and. . . .
While THE STONE RABBIT sent the PIGS out into the yard. . .
I started setting up the table for the dessert!!! Besides the PIG cakes, THE STONE RABBIT had fixed some Kool - Aid!!
THE STONE RABBIT had planned a little game called Pin the Tail on the Piggy, but his guests wanted something with a little more action.
The first thing those PIGS did was to climb the tree in the front yard and then. . . .
they started JUMPING out of the tree. . . one. . .
after one. . . .
each trying to hit the . . .
bucket they had positioned beneath the tree!!!!
Finally, the fourth little PIGGY came falling out of the tree. . . appearing to be on target!!
That's when THE STONE RABBIT told the rest of them to get out of the tree . . . he had a safer activity in mind!
He quickly organized a little PIGGYBACK relay. He's so smart. . . he knows how much PIGS love to race!
pool to cool off! While some of the PIGS were having a ball enjoying the fun in the water, some preferred to. . . .
to lay out in the sun !!!
It's a good thing THE STONE RABBIT had the sunscreen handy! He didn't want any of his buddies getting "roasted"!
You should have heard the squeals of delight when the PIGS saw the cute cakes !!!
THE STONE RABBIT told them that he wanted everyone to write a little note that expressed their feelings about PINK or PINK SATURDAY!!!!
They quickly set about to do just that!
When they finished each PIG was given a cake and told to place their note in it for us to see!!
Those PIGS shared such sweet thoughts about PINKS and PINK SATURDAY!!!
Just then, I realized they weren't always just a bunch of wild hogs. . . they did have their sensitive moments, too.
THEN, they started gobbling up their cupcakes. . .
It took THE STONE RABBIT and I quite a while to clean them up. . .
and after we did. . . we saw how happy they looked!
Before they left, they told THE STONE RABBIT "thanks" for such a fun party and wanted him to wish a HAPPY 2nd PINK SATURDAY BIRTHDAY to Beverly and. . . .
all of the PINK SATURDAY participants!!!!!
Then the PIGS went back home because it was time for them to. . .
to visit Beverly's at HOW SWEET THE SOUND, and start checking out all of the other parties and celebrations that are honoring this special milestone!!!
A very special thank you to Beverly for all of the hours she spends making certain PINK SATURDAY happens for us each and every week!!
DANA

OMG, Dana - and TSR. I am on the floor laughing. This is an incredible party.
I admit I did get a little nervous at the mention of all of those sweet little piggies roasting, but TSR saved the day again.
Happy Pink Saturday! We've been pinking together almost the entire two years - you were absolutely right about the time. Thank you for everything you do to make Pink Saturday special.

Hi Dana, I am laughing out loud girl. This is so appropriate for this big 'Pink Saturday' birthday party. You are in your writing element when an occasion like this comes up. This the cutest post and your cup cakes are so pigged out and cute. Very clever. I know you are loving the cake decorating fun. The Stone Rabbit ROCKS!!!
Bill just read your post and got such a kick out of it too. He scrolled down to the previous posts you have done as well. He like reading your posts.
I made a couple of changes on my post this morning after you visited. I was too tired to do more last night. Of all things a bad storm knocked the net for a better part of the day. That meant a late night. sigh!
Happy Pink Saturday my dear friend. I too have enjoyed our friendship from the start. Meeting you last summer was a highlight in my life. You must come to the mountains and visit me. Bring Bonnie and anyone who would love to visit our mountains. We would have so much fun.
Gotta go, we are planting 28 plants on the border of the terrace steps. I will post it of course. LOL.
Love and hugs to you today. Happy birthday to your adorable grand girl.

Dana,
If we were giving out awards today for the BEST Pink Saturday post, you would win the academy award. I think out of all the pink posts that i have read, yours are always filled with a giggle, a surprise, and fun.
The best part about Pink Saturday for me has been to meet wonderful people like you!
Happy Pink Saturday Birthday to you. Wishing you more adventures in The Land of Pink Blogggery.
