Our local HY-VEE store has been using the best paper bags this month. As you can see, they are also helping spread the message about breast cancer awareness.
I let THE STONE RABBIT peek inside this particular bag! When he did, he realized how close we are to Halloween!! He said he hadn't given a thought to his costume this year!!!
I couldn't believe he hadn't thought about it, because he saw me working away on The Grand Girl's costume for quite a while!!
In fact, I had showed him the vintage pattern I found at a flea market. . .
and he watched as I created new pattern pieces and sewed several "proto-type" dresses and tried and re-tried the protos and the REAL thing on The (very patient) Grand Girl, until. . . .
we came up with a little dress that looked pretty much like something ANNIE would wear!!!
What a perfect costume for a little girl with the most beautiful curly red hair!!
THE STONE RABBIT moved like a bunny possessed!!
He went to my sewing room, surveyed the supplies and came back with with a pile of white fabric and some PINK scissors!! Then he set about cutting the fabric into strips!!!
Then, with a little help from me. . . .
he turned into The Mummy Bunny of Halloween!!! EEEEEEEEK!!!
Of course he needed something to put his candy in. A PINK plastic cup, a pipe cleaner handle and a magic marker was all it took to make his treat bucket!!
It's hard to tell, with all the wrappings, but THE STONE RABBIT is smiling from ear to ear!! He LOVES Halloween!!!
Don't forget to visit Beverly at HOW SWEET THE SOUND! She will have a long list of bloggers with great PINKS to share with you.. . .be careful, cuz some of them might be pretty scary this week!!!
HAVE A GREAT PINK SATURDAY HALLOWEEN!!!
DANA
Hi Dana, your version of Annie's dress is perfect. Your grand girl will be adorable as Annie. She definitely has beautiful red curls. You did a great job on that little dress. Has your grand girl seen the movie? I bet she would love it. My niece was real small when she memorized every song in the production and would belt them out when ever you asked her. However, she did not have that pretty red hair.
Thanks for your comment on the camera club post. Yes, we are lucky to live in this lovely place. Come to see us and you can enjoy it too. BIG smile. I bet there was several thousands of dollars in equipment on our deck last week. We really did have so much fun those five days.
I love the Stone Rabbit's costume. He deserves to be happy on Halloween too. Love his pink treat pail.
Enjoy your darling grands on Halloween my dear friend and Happy Halloween to you and yours.
Love, Jeanne

That child's hair is spun gold, I clicked and enlarged and can see the gold flakes in it !!
You did splendid on the costume. Hey I think I have a pattern very much like this one in
my stash. I made all my daughter's clothes as she was born in 63.

I'm sure the Grand Girl will be a hit at any Halloween activity she attends. And, of course, I got a chuckle out of the Mummy Bunny. How creative on both costumes.

Yes Dana, I have not forgotten the flamingo pink post you did. We were out West and in our hotel when I checked your blog for Pink Sat. I was laughing so hard Bill had to come and see why. You and Bonnie were hilarious.
I added a pic to my post that will give you a laugh. If you have a moment come and see. I am on my way to our church for a Halloween celebration for the children. We have chili etc. and then give our candy from the trunk of our cars. In the mountains the kids can't trick or treat because it is dangerous and none of the homes are close to each other. I dressed up for he occasion. I have a hat on but it doesn't show up. It looks like a stem.
I hope you are having fun with your grands tonight. I know grand girl is adorable and I bet grand baby has a costume too. I had many years of sharing Halloween with my grands when they were small. I miss those times.
Love, Jeanne

Terrific job on the Annie dress Dana! Grand Girl will look so adorable in it. By the way, what is little Grand Boy going to be? Tell TSR to be sure and not cover his eyes completely. Wouldn't want him tripping and spilling all his goodies ;)
He is such a clever bunny.

I am literally rolling in the floor laughing....my cheeks hurt I have laughed so much at the Stone Rabbit's costume!!!! Girl...you crack me up and are also one smart cookie. I sew but would not attempt to piece a pattern together. My mind just doesn't work like that! Heck, I made Boo some school clothes and I made the sweetest vest upside down...yep upside down. It had little woodland animals on the corduroy and they were all UPSIDE DOWN! I do hope you are going to show us photos of that gorgeous red headed grand girl of yours dressed for Halloween. Ours decided she wanted to be a cheer leader this year. I guess the horse outfit I sent her from the farmette didn't turn her on. LOL...xoxo Lynn
