Last week, I shared a photo of the ANNIE dress I had made for my Grand Girl to wear on Halloween.
The perfect accessory for the ANNIE dress was this amazing locket. It was actually a vintage ANNIE necklace that belongs to one of my DIL'S dear friend. It is a childhood treasure of hers as she was an ANNIE fanatic!
It was hard to believe that Halloween had finally arrived. The Grand Girl's mom had been thinking about the family costumes since June!!! She knew, with those gorgeous red curls, her daughter would be the perfect ANNIE. . .
and she borrowed a dog costume from another friend for The Little Grand Boy to wear. He would be the perfect Sandy. . . Annie's beloved pooch!
To complete the cast of characters, my son dressed up in a tux and was Daddy Warbucks, while my DIL found the perfect clothes to transform herself into Miss Hannigan. . . the "mean" woman in charge of the orphanage. However, our Miss Hannigan was the "nice Miss Hannigan" on Halloween evening.
After a quick dinner, Little Annie, grabbed her PINK bucket and lantern. She was ready to do some serious candy gathering!!!
Her neighborhood was Halloween Heaven for the little costumed kiddos!!! I mean. . . they go all out to put the evening over the top! Here, ANNIE is in the garage of a neighbor. It had been transformed into a spooky, but fun location! The kiddos helped themselves to tons of candy arranged on a table . . .
and there were games set up for the little ones, too! It was quite the fun spot to be!
The evening started out with fairly warm temperatures, but jackets were needed before the candy collecting was finished.
When her PINK bucket was full of candy, the Grand Girl headed back home to check out her loot. She did take time out from candy sorting to enjoy a little dish of apple crisp her Nana made for dessert.
Here's a closer view of the candle arrangement my DIL created for their kitchen table! She changes the contents of the glass cylinder for each season.
It was so much fun to be a part of this Halloween evening with my son and his family. However, I was just a little glad that I didn't have to be the "Post-Trick or Treating Halloween Candy Police". Been there, done that!! :)
Actually, I received some Halloween candy, too. A couple of weeks ago,the Grand Girl gave me this special PINK Tootsie Pop. I had been saving it for just the right time. This afternoon, the time had come. I retrieved it from the spot I had it stashed and started to tug at the paper wrapping.
As I was eagerly starting to reveal the yummy pop that I had waited so long to enjoy, THE STONE RABBIT reminded me how very much he loved those PINK Tootsie treats, too. In fact, he was whining so much that I broke down and let him have it!! I know the Grand Girl will be OK about that . . . she loves the rabbit, too, and she knows just how persistent he can be.
I hope you had a great post Halloween week!! I need to take down my black and orange decorations and concentrate on our season of bounty, feasting and thankfulness.
I do know one of the things at the top of my Thankfulness List is our weekly Pink Saturday gathering. Beverly, our hostess, has faithfully organized our participants every week for over two years. Her Pink Saturday has become a fixture in the lives of many of us. What did we do on Saturday mornings before Pink Saturday? Thank you, Beverly, for making this event possible!
SOOOOO. . .if you want to share in the Pink Saturday fun, just visit Beverly's blog, HOW SWEET THE SOUND. She will have a long list of bloggers who are ready to share their PINKS with you!!!

Wow....what a treat to be able to trick or treat in a neighborhood like that. I sure hope you all took home movies of the gang all dressed up. The dog is fabulous! If you did, some day that movie will be treasured more than you ever know. The other day, Bobby G. and I were looking at some old home movies. We laughed ourselves silly at the antics of the boys while being filmed. Have a wonderful weekend Dana and Happy Pink Saturday. You are one amazing grand mama. xoxo

Good morning Dana, I adore this post Halloween pink Saturday. Your little grand girl is so the perfect Annie. The doggy costume was perfect too. I know you had the most wonderful time that night. The garage Halloween party was awesome. Boy, did it bring back some memories with the ghost toss. I cut a ghost from plywood years ago and made a ghost toss for our church Halloween party. I was not adept with a saw and it was so hard for me to do. I could have done what your neighbor did but it never occurred to me. HA! The candle idea is very clever too. Your night was a special Halloween to remember. When we lived in Florida our grands always came to our neighborhood to trick or treat. It was the best of memories when our grands were younger. Sigh, I do miss those days but their teen years are fun too. Our grands are the best kids, as well as thoughtful and loving. We are so lucky.
I would have loved going to the Christmas sale with you and the girls. I miss things like that in this small town. However, if I buy another Christmas thing I should be ashamed. We are overwhelmed with Christmas boxes of 'THINGS' here. We did make a huge purchase this year when we bought a 7.5 foot 'LIGHTED' Christmas tree. We both are thrilled because putting lights on a tree is the most hated job in this house. We will have a Christmas tree party after Thanksgiving when many family members will be here. Mt sister Diane, from Atlanta, has rented a house here for Thanksgiving and her children will be here to stay in the house. All except Heather, she will be back in Hawaii for Thanksgiving.
It is 32 degrees this am and I am the only one up. We bought Cheri' a new heated dog bed and she cried half the night because she missed her old bed. What a spoiled puppy. I'm talking 3:00am and still crying. We didn't give in...
Have a wonderful day my dear friend.
Love, Jeanne

Aww - Little Annie just melts my heart and the puppy is absolutely adorable. What a creative bunch you all are. Daddy W and Miss H? Now that must have been beyond cute! I miss seeing the little ones. We have neighbor kids that I've watched grow from babies and toddlers and it's my highlight when they come to my door. I wish I had taken a picture every year.
On to Thanksgiving now, right? I'm grateful that I'm not doing the Home Tour this year - man that was some work - so my Thanksgiving and Christmas will be much more relaxed - I'm going to concentrate on The Roost.
Thanks for sharing those adorable pictures of those adorable kids in those adorable costumes!!! xoxo Nancy

Ohhhhhhh, so perfect. I just love Annie, and your little one is the perfect Annie. That dress, she is so blessed to have you for a Grandmother. And look at that other cutie! I was always happy when it was warm enough that their outfits could actually be seen instead of under coats.
You have the nicest life Dana. Happy Pink Saturday.

Hey, I just came over to see how many comments you have. Where is everyone? I have 13 and the last one just commented. I think I have visited about 30 people and still visiting now. Several people have been wondering the same thing. I have to admit, life is 'busy.' I have noticed that a lot of newer blogggers are visiting more and it has been a better response for them. I am just not going to worry about it Dana. I will post and visit when I can to make myself happy. Visitors are just a sweet bonus. What do you think?
Love and happy Sunday wishes.

What a fun day full of delightful fall and Halloween activities for grandparents and grandchildren. My grandkids came over for a bit to show off their Halloween finery before heading off to the church's trunk or treat. But we also had a delightful time making fall pumpkin table decorations earlier in the week. I do love fall fun activities, as I can tell you do as well.
