I just participated in my third swap EVER . It was hosted by Sandy of 521 LAKE STREET!
I had the good fortune to be paired with Melissa of CHARMED LIFE.
While I am not a paper artist like so many of the ladies who were in the swap, I have to say I do enjoy creating this way. I have discovered that while trying to come up with the small end product, I can make the biggest of messes dragging out all of the stuff I "experiment" with before I am happy with a certain combination of papers and embellishments.
First, I'll show you what I sent to Melissa.
Here THE STONE RABBIT poses with my tag. He told me I had "super sized" it because it did come out pretty large!
My friend Bonnie and I found the rabbit card at a recent flea market outing. I copied it and placed it on top of an old Christmas light reflector, then trimmed the rabbit picture in vintage tinsel.
The background paper is from Hobby Lobby (I think).
I made a ruffle of ecru crepe paper and added it to the lower part of the tag, then topped it with lavender ribbon and a little saying that was copied from a vintage Easter postcard.
The hanger was made from the same lavender ribbon.
From my boxes of vintage buttons, I pulled three of my favorite and added them, with a touch of tinsel, to the hanger.
I had so much fun putting together the other items I included in Melissa's package. Before the swap, I had attended a couple of flea markets and a few antique shops. . . I was on my mission to find little vintage items to share with her!
Here you see an old post card, some wooden tree decorations and a SPRING sign from "Scrabble letters". They are atop a tulip hankie.
I found this "do it yourself" tag kit in a booth in Greenwood, MO. I selected the "M" theme just for Melissa!
The little box was found at a flea market. . . the vendor swore it was old! I dunno for sure, but I sure thought it was cute. I put a few small items in it for Melissa.....including this little chick cookie cutter.
No Easter swap would be complete without a couple of special "bunny" picks! :)
I was so thrilled to get Melissa's package yesterday!!!
Here is the delightful tag she created for me! She knew I was a big time rabbit fan, didn't she?
I just giggled out loud when I saw that SHE had also put a crepe paper ruffle at the bottom of her sweet tag!! She topped hers with PINK velvet trim and a wonderful glittery buckle!
THE STONE RABBIT and I love your tag, Melissa!
She also included a great picture of one of THE STONE RABBIT'S relatives. . . .painting the Mona Leaper!
Where do you think di Vinci got his inspiration? :)
Twiggy loved the little standing bunny Melissa sent!
This is a wonderful bunny plaque--with the perfect amounts of glittery touches!! I'm in bunny heaven, Melissa!!
If you read my blog, you know I'm a Peep-a-holic!!! Especially yummy PINK ones!!!
This little fellow is going to be busy over the next few days. . . making his little Jelly Bean Rounds!!!
Ooops, I left the little motor cycle riding bunny out of this photo, but I wanted you to see how happy THE STONE RABBIT is. . . .surrounded by Melissa's wonderful creation and gifts!!
Thank you again, Melissa!
And thank you to Sandy for organizing such a fun Easter Tag Swap!!

Dana, it sounds like you and I go through the same process to papercraft. I also pull out all kinds of crafting supplies and experiment before deciding what I'm happy with. I sure make a mess! Your tag was worth it. Just lovely!
You and Melissa both sent wonderful swap packages filled with goodies. That's what makes these swaps so much fun. Wishing you a joyous Easter!

You did a marvelous job with your tags....I am just getting a toe wet with the paper crafts....I thought I should atleast try as I have spent a small fortune on "things" and they just sit in boxes, lol!

Dana, your swap items are awesome and I know they were made with love. Melissa loved them no doubt about it. She also made some darling treasures to send you as well. Great bunny gifts and bunny fun. Love the pink peeps. I can't believe Easter came and went and I didn't eat a single peep. Easter in CA did not include Easter candy. Sigh! However, I had a wonderful visit and the wedding was beautiful.
It is very late so I will say goodnight. I am trying to adjust to the time change thing.
I hope your Easter was a wonderful one with family and lots of good food.
Love, Jeanne
