This was the front of our house shortly after brunch on Easter morning!!!
You can see that the big CHOCOLATE BUNNY (featured in last week's Pink Saturday) had decided he liked the view better from the front porch, so he positioned himself in a planter by the windows.
In fact that bunny was so excited because he was able to watch the Easter Bunny hide eggs all over our front yard while we ate our brunch! If you look closely, you can see several of those eggs waiting for the two older grand kiddos.
At the moment this photo was snapped, the two older Grands were eagerly waiting behind that closed door.....decked out in their bunny ears and holding their empty baskets....ready to fly out and snatch up the eggs!!!
The doors flew open and the kids flew out!!! The hunt was ON!!!
You can see the Grand Girl wore her Easter Pinkness..right down to the bunny ears!! She was a PRO at egg snatching this year....note she's going for egg #2 before putting egg#1 in her basket!! Easter Egg Hunt Rule #1!!!
Grand Boy #1 loved gathering eggs this year, too. Being three years younger than the Grand Girl, he's a little slower at it, but that's made up for by how much he savoured every little moment of the event!!
Grand Boy #2, who is now three months old, was all about "napping" on our girl's shoulder while his siblings nabbed the eggs. :) Next year. . . .he just might be ready to collect an egg or two!!
We had a wonderful "non-traditional" Easter dinner, too. Our son grilled brats, Italian sausages and hot dogs. . . and awesome corn on the cob!! Our DIL fixed scrumptious butter for the corn by combining Feta cheese, chopped fresh mint and real butter. SO GOOOOOD! We also had fresh asparagus!!
All in all, it was a heavenly meal. . . our first "grill" of the year! And, because the weather was so perfect, we were able to dine outside on the patio!!
As I type this post, early on the Friday after Easter Sunday, the wonderful yellow tulips my son and his family gave us, are still gorgeous. . . a constant reminder of a perfect time together on Easter 2012.
THE STONE RABBIT told me recently, he thought he'd give our Easter Celebration 2012 a "10"! Everything was great. . . the Easter service at church, the brunch, the egg hunt, the dinner, the weather. . .but most importantly the fact that we were able to spend quality time with people we love so very much.
Please visit our hostess, Beverly, at HOW SWEET THE SOUND. She will have a long list of fellow bloggers eager to share their Pink Saturday posts with you this weekend---lots of quality computer time is in store for you!
Happy PINK SATURDAY!!
DANA
Good morning Dana, I came over to say hello and I am thrilled with your beautiful and darling (your grands) post. How adorable is your grand girl's Easter outfit. Not to mention her sweet and pretty red curls. Your grand boys are darling as well. Your sweet grands in these pictures are such a treasure. It really makes me miss the days when ours were all that age. Now they are all teenagers and more. We loved hiding the eggs in those days when we lived closer to our grands. We are now watching them grow into adults that we are so proud of as well.
Your Easter dinner sounds so good and a nice change from the usual fare. I am glad you had a wonderful Easter with love all around you. These are the times to remember.
I better think about getting my PS post done so we can be in the race for linking. HA!
Love, Jeanne

I love this post, Dana. Nothing is sweeter than kids with stockings or kids with Easter baskets. I have many more memories of Easter as a kid than I do Christmas! My sister and I always had new dress, shoes, hats, and gloves. After church we'd have a big Easter egg hunt.
Your granddaughter has the most amazing hair and hands! What a beauty. I can't believe how big your little guy is who looks darling by the way. And the baby - sighing - he always looks like he's the cuddliest baby ever! Don't you just want to rock and cuddle with him all the time?
Also - I covet that chocolate bunny - just the kind to have around so you don't eat him! My mouth is watering now after seeing your food. I have to get some corn on the cob today. I need to eat before I read your blog and you need to put a disclaimer or warning up about that. Going to rustle up some asparagus and butter and corn on the cob now! xoxo Nancy
BTW - Your pages this month were amazing!

Hi sweet friend. Happy Pink Saturday. Everyone looks like they had a wonderful time on Easter. I love the "untraditional" Easter dinner. Wonderful memories. I go get the box with the journal later. It had gotten to VA I shaked my head in amazement. So sorry. Hugs Grace OOO

Hi Dana, Happy PS morning. When I linked yesterday I was surprised to be 2nd and not see you first. Later Beverly told me she linked you. Next time ask me to link you, then I would be sure to be ahead of you. HA! You know I'm kidding, but I would be glad to link you anytime.
This garden was in Maine. It is so stunning isn't it? Because the azaleas are in bloom now, I thought it would be worth re-printing.
Wish Marion a belated happy birthday. I am really looking forward to seeing you in June.
Happy days to you and yours.
Love, Jeanne
