We have a long time tradition of attending a local parade on July 4th morning.
We took our kids to the parade when they were little and now we are lucky enough that our grand kiddos live near by and they get to attend, too!
Following the parade, we head off to a local park with family and friends and enjoy some of the best food ever known to mankind!! Seriously, there is NOTHING in this world that tastes as good as a grilled hot dog on the 4th of July!!
Remember the vintage firetruck in a previous photo? Well, it is owned by one of our friends. Not only does he drive it in the parade, he brings it to the picnic and gives us rides !!!
It's just the perfect touch to our small town celebration .
THE STONE RABBIT and I hope that you have a safe and happy July 4th celebration. . .filled with the blessings of family and friends. . . and some yummy food!!! :)
Please visit our hostess, Beverly, of HOW SWEET THE SOUND! There you will find lots of bloggers who are ready to share their celebrations and/or PINKS with you this weekend!!
Happy PINK Saturday!!
DANA
Fun times, Dana! I told Xanti and Kyle to be sure and make a trip out to your fair city. They love the old time small towns.
Happy 4th!

In Texas you would have to be very careful watching a parade. Unbearable heat.

Our little mountain town has a parade, too. I can't wait, even though I know it will be HOT! Your yard looks very patriotic!

Have a wonderful holiday.

We also enjoy our small town parade and the fireworks in the park when it gets dark. Luckily, we have a pretty good view of the fireworks from our lawn and we can avoid the traffic. Our little town is really over-run with tourists during the summer and holidays like the Fourth are hopeless. We plan our day to start BTTGU...(Before the Tourists Get Up) and our routes anywhere planned for right turns only. Enjoy your cook out. Nothing in this world beats a grilled hot dog (unless it's one eaten at Yankee Stadium!)
Hope you enjoy your Fourth with the G-kids and family. Hubby and I plan to buy BBQ chicken and all the fixings from a wonderful BBQ spot here in town... it's too hot to fire up the grill when the temps are in triple digits! Hope your week is Pink and your Fourth is super star studded! My house looks so festive with our Circle of Friends flag banners...hope you enjoy making yours...relax, it will be fabulous as always.

I can only suppose this is last year and hope you have weather for the same this week! That hot dog platter looked wonderful - though I might forgo the corn salsa. Perfect for the 4th! Enjoying my banner this week and will be posting when all six are in place! Loved this swap - want to know all about the PINK idea . . .
Joy!
