I recently sent a plant marker idea I'd seen on Pinterest to a friend of mine who has the greenest thumb I know. It was a project that involved placing wine corks onto forks and writing the name of the plants on the corks!
A few days later, she sent me a "plant marker kit".....complete with all the items I needed to create my own markers!
The only "garden plants" I have are four semi-sad looking pots of herbs. . .hence, the labels I made!
After writing the plant names on the corks, the scary part of the project was next. . .sticking the tines into the corks without accidentally poking myself. . .I came close to doing that on the first cork-sticking-attempt, but after that near accident, I used the gently "rocking back and forth" approach and they went right in!
A little raffia bow was then attached to each marker. . .and we were ready for them to be placed in the herb pots!
This is such a fun and easy project. . .and I LOVE the idea my friend (and my sister in law ....she was part of that little kit surprise, too) had! That would be such a great little gift for many special occasions. The forks can easily be found very inexpensively. . .and the wine corks. . . well gee. . .just another reason to enjoy a glass or two of wine with a friend! Right? You're saving the corks for presents, afterall !!
THE STONE RABBIT helped me with this project . He decided he'd take the idea a step further and make an ID necklace for himself! He can be so creative when he wants to be!!

What a neat idea. Never would have thought of that. I know someone that has plenty of corks. Will see what I can do.

Now that is a cute idea. Corks are pretty versatile decorating items. Stone Rabbit looks pretty in-vogue.
