It's so hard for me to narrow it down to one favorite song. . . I am so fond of almost all holiday music.  However, I have to say that these stand out for me:

"Hark, How the Bells".  I can clearly recall singing that in our high school choir as part of a  Christmas program.  I especially loved the "Ding, Dong, Ding, Dong" parts.  I remember how our vocal teacher made sure we were very precise on each of those words. . . just like the sound ringing bells would make. 

"The First Noel".  When I hear that song, I think of singing it at our church as part of the choir there, too, and while out caroling in the tiny town where I grew up.

 "Frosty the Snowman" is up there on my top ten as that's one The Grand Girl especially loves to sing. 

 

THE STONE RABBIT says he has many songs he enjoys during this time of year, too.  In fact, the title of this book is also the title of one of his favorite holiday tunes.  

 

 

Recently, our breakfast group met for our annual Christmas Brunch.  Since I was taking our group shot (had the timer thingy going on here) . . . . .

 

 

 

I also asked if they would like to do something special for this week's post.

 Of course, they cheerfully agreed!!  :)

THE TEXAS TENORS ARE STILL OUR #1 PICK!!!

Last night, just before AMERICA'S GOT TALENT was to air and let us know who won first place in the voting, I pulled out my lucky PINK socks (part of a Mother's Day gift from my DIL, son and grand girl).  I thought if I would place my TENORS photo next to them, then the good luck would transfer to that wonderful trio!!!

Twiggy and THE STONE RABBIT took their spots in front of the TV.......they had been talking about the show all day!!  

The show started and we anxiously waited with THE TEXAS TENORS to find out how they did in the voting.  After what seemed like an eternity, it was announced  they had made the Top Five!!!

The show crept along. . . . but we finally found out that THE TENORS were now in the FINAL FOUR.

THE STONE RABBIT said he needed to wear one of my lucky socks, too.  Every little bit helps!!

Sadly, we soon found out, THE TEXAS TENORS  were going to be in the Fourth Place.

They were so appreciative for this award and opportunity.

I personally felt they deserved a much higher spot, but, of course, the winner is not necessarily based on honest to goodness talent.  It's based on a popularity vote by TV viewers.

The final two contestants were Kevin Skinner and Barbara Padilla. 

The winner was Kevin Skinner.

I wish him luck.  He is appealing to many folks because he is not "polished". . he's soft spoken and shy and his singing reflects those qualities.   It will be interesting to see the direction this win takes him.

After the show, Twiggy, THE STONE RABBIT and I discussed that, in our book, THE TEXAS TENORS are still our Number One Choice!!  Thanks go out to THE TENORS for giving us such enjoyment over the last few weeks!!!

We wish them a wonderful singing future. . . .and we hope we can get their autographs some day!!!  :)

WE LOVE THE TEXAS TENORS!!

Tuesday was the day we'd all been looking forward to!!!!  THE TEXAS TENORS would be making their appearance in the semi-final round of "AMERICA'S GOT TALENT"!!!   As I've mentioned in a previous post (click here) , one of the TENORS, JC, is a friend of my son and daughter-in-law's.  

THE STONE RABBIT was  eager to support JC and the other two TENORS, so he made a little sign and hopped up and down our street for hours.  He said several of our neighbors told him they'd been cheering for the group in their earlier appearances on the show and they would be sure to vote for them again after their performance that night!!

When the show came on Tuesday evening, I headed to my little office and settled in with Twiggy to watch THE TENORS!!  They were the second act and they were WONDERFUL!!!

THEN tonight, came the RESULTS show!!!!  Of the ten acts who performed last night, only four would advance to the finals!!!!

OOOOOOH, it was tense!!!

THE TEXAS TENORS were in the very first group to hear the results. 

They were waiting and . . . .

Twiggy was waiting and . . . . .

then the words we'd all been so hoping to hear came at last.  THE TEXAS TENORS were going to the finals!!!!

THE STONE RABBIT was so excited, that he started hoping up and down causing the TV to shake....that's why the picture looks blurry! :)

How exciting for THE TEXAS TENORS!!!

I did tell THE STONE RABBIT he needed to correct his little sign before he goes out on his next trip to support the group.....and he promptly took care of it!!! 

Yes, his sign says it all....we do love THE TEXAS TENORS!!!!

THE TEXAS TENORS!

This handsome guy is a friend of my son and daughter-in-law.   I captured this photo when he was attending my Grand Girl's birthday party in June. 

His first name is JC.  He's an amazing singer......a tenor!!!

And ya know what else?

He's on the TV show AMERICA'S GOT TALENT!!!   That's him on your left side of the screen as he appeared in his audition for the show.  He had combined forces with two other great singers and formed the group called THE TEXAS TENORS!!  <------- click on their name to listen to them sing!!!

I took this photo on July 8th. . . . . in the hospital room where my daughter-in-law had just presented us with a wonderful Grand Boy about two and one-half hours before the group made their debut!! 

Over the next few weeks, it was disclosed that THE TEXAS TENORS had made the Top Forty Group out of the gazillions of folks who had tried out for the show.

TONIGHT, we finally got to see them perform LIVE from Hollywood!!  JC is on your left again....the judges are down in front.

THE TEXAS TENORS.....giving it their all!  And let me tell you, they were dynamite!

The judges had a few comments----mostly positive.

The Texas Tenors listened intently to the remarks made by the judges.

When tonight's twelve acts were reviewed, at the end of the program, THE STONE RABBIT hopped up to get a close look at the talent.  He agreed that the number one talent tonight was, by far, THE TEXAS TENORS!!!

That rabbit certainly knows talent when he sees (and HEARS) it!!

The Texas Tenors just found out they are going to the semi-finals!
