It's hard to believe Beverly's weekly event, PINK SATURDAY, has been up and running for EIGHT YEARS!!
I owe a great deal to having her and Pink Saturday in my life. When she started Pink Saturday I'd just been blogging a month. I was still very green at actually using a computer, taking pictures, uploading the photos to the computer, editing photos, getting the photos onto my blog post page, blah blah blah!!
I didn't participate in her weekly Pink Saturday until it was a couple of weeks old(maybe three....I'm not certain) , but once I realized this event was happening I thought I'd give it a try.
I clearly recall my very first PINK SATURDAY post. . .and all of the time that went into making it happen. I was painfully slow at the blogging process, plus I ususally go overboard with photos, and that added to the problem. Anyway, that was 8 years ago. . .and I haven't missed a Pink Saturday since!!
For many years we were to post about something PINK. Pink wasn't an important color in my life initially, however, it wasn't long before my eyes became quite keen at picking out the many wonderful things around that were that color. We also had special occasions (seasons, holidays, etc.) where we could post about something related to that topic. In recent times, Beverly has switched things up to where we have "anything goes Pink Saturdays" . We are free to share whatever we like!
As I said, Pink Saturdays and Beverly have been very important to me. I've been able to make good friends through this weekly meeting. Many of us have actually had the good fortune to meet up in person. . .but mainly we stay connected through Pink Saturday or other means.
Just like many of my favorite blogging peeps, I've slowed way down on the number of posts I publish each week. Sadly, many have dropped out of blogging over the years for various reasons. Blogging is time consuming so it's easy to let the process slide. However, I feel very lucky because Beverly's Pink Saturday has been the force that motivates me to do a little weekly blog. It keeps me interested in documenting events in my life. . .which anymore seem to focus more and more on "running". While my blogging focus has definitely changed over the years, the importance of devoting some time each week to getting a post together for Pink Saturday has not!
So a huge THANK YOU and an even bigger HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, Beverly, for keeping us up and running and connected and blogging for EIGHT YEARS!!!
